The Hyatt Regency Orange County completed a major renovation, and is a stunning yet family-friendly Disneyland area hotel. It's ideal for upscale vacations.

The Hyatt Regency Orange County is one of many hotels that are within a mile of Disneyland, and offer free shuttle service to and from Disneyland and other nearby family-friendly vacation activities. The Hyatt Regency Orange County, however, just completed a $25 million renovation, and is a spectacular hotel choice for Disneyland vacation lodging.

Luxury Travel stayed at the Hyatt Regency Orange County both before and after the top-to-bottom renovation, and the improvement is remarkable. It provides the luxury and pampering of a 4-star hotel, with all the conveniences of standard theme park area lodging a family would expect so close to Disneyland.

Hyatt Regency Orange County Rooms and Suites

There are 654 guest rooms, including 241 suites, split between the North and South Towers. The North Tower was formerly office space, and the renovations in this tower make use of the preexisting larger spaces: 87 VIP Two Bedroom Suites are ideal for families. The living room between the two full bedrooms (one with bunk bed) has a pull-out sofa bed, for larger families traveling to Disneyland. The suites are brand new, with flat screen televisions and a warm, contemporary, comfortable design.

Hyatt Regency Orange County Fitness Center

The StayFit (tm) Fitness Center is complimentary to guests of the hotel. It's open 24 hours a day, with clean, new high-tech cardio and strength training equipment. The equipment comes with integrated televisions for each machine, so that each guest can choose what to watch during a workout. There are also two heated outdoor pools and jacuzzis.

Hyatt Regency Orange County Dining

There is in-room dining, of course, with a full menu of adult and children's fare. Even better, the OC Brewhouse in the atrium lobby has al the snacks and mixed drinks of any bar, but also focuses on the interesting, flavorful microbrews from Southern California. There are a couple of sets of child-sized furniture nearby, with a large plasma television constantly playing Disney movies; little kids happily watch the movies and eat light snacks, which parents relax with a glass or two of wine after a day at Disneyland. Its a very nice way to spend some downtime after a day at the theme park.

TosCA is the signature restaurant of the hotel. The chef herself is from Northern Italy, and she blends traditional Italian cuisine with Southern California ingredients – herbs picked fresh from the rooftop herb garden – for creative entrees befitting any high end restaurant.

Hyatt Regency Orange County Vacation Packages

There are always a few special offers and vacation packages to be found on the hotel's website. Most notable are the value savings packages that are typically tied in to visits to Disneyland and other nearby attractions (such as Huntington Beach and the LA Angels baseball stadium). The Hyatt Regency Summer of Fun Disneyland vacation package, for example, includes 4 Disneyland park Hopper passes, 3 nights in a VIP Family Suite, a day at the beach with surf lessons (and private town car transportation), and more. Other special offers at the hotel revolve around romantic vacation packages and more.

Luxury Travel was impressed by the major renovation at the Hyatt Regency Orange County. The hotel is light-filled and lovely, with the right mix of luxury and child-friendly accommodations. It's a recommended hotel for a Disneyland-themed Southern California family vacation.
