Innisbrook, in the Tampa Bay area near many Gulf Coast beaches, celebrates its recent renovation and 40th birthday with a great travel package.

Luxury travel buffs know that while one doesn't always have to spend a lot of money on a 5-star vacation, sometimes it feels great to splurge. This travel package should be of interest to members of the elite class who are keen to, shall we say, contribute to the economy vis a vis major expenditures. Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf & Spa resort in Florida, is celebrating its 40th birthday with a year of, well, forties. Innisbrook is a luxury resort through and through, being around 40 minutes from downtown Tampa and 40 minutes from St. Petersburg, and the theme of forties is best seen in its birthday year package.

$40,000 Innisbrook Travel Package

For the low, low price of $40,000 (because don't we all have that in cash, in our wallets, right now?) the Innisbrook travel package includes:

  • 40 days and 40 nights in the gorgeous Innisbrook Presidential Suite
  • 40 meals for two that can be used at any Innisbrook’s four restaurants
  • 40 rounds of golf
  • 40 spa treatments
  • 40 days of bicycle rental
  • 40 days of fitness classes
  • 40 days of tennis court access.
  • 40-strong movie library featuring the Academy Award winner for best picture from each of the past 40 years.

Imagine spending a month at this luxury resort, spa and golf course -- what a way to pamper one's self.

This $40,000 travel package is good through December 10, 2011. This is exactly one year after the official day of its 40th anniversary. Innisbrook's new spa, the Indaba Spa, is a 20,000 square foot retreat. Busy lives that need relaxation will be treated to serenity here, with many single and couples treatments and other spa services. The 40 rounds of golf at Innisbrook are a treat, too; the courses here have been called one of the "Top 100 You Can Play" by Golf Magazine, and Innisbrook was named one of the "top 75 Golf Resorts in America" by Golf Digest.

Spending a month at an upscale resort is a tempting luxury, and there are other activities in the vicinity of the destination to round out days of spa treatments, high-end dining, and golf. Busch Gardens, the closest amusement park, is, yes, around 40 minutes away. Also nearby, and even closer to Innisbrook, the historic Greek village of Tarpon Springs has over 100 shops in a Greek village-styled walkable town. The "Sponge Dock" area in particular is known for its Greek bakeries and restaurants.

Honeymoon Island Beach and State Park is one of the few remaining virgin slash pine forests in south Florida. Nature lovers can take their time to observe ospreys in their nests, shorebirds, and other wildlife native to Florida. Sports fans can catch a game at the Tampa Bay Bucaneers stadium, and Tampa Bay Downs is a nearby American Thoroughbred horse racing facility.

Sometimes the over-the-top lifestyle is worth an exploration. The "forties" themed Innisbrook travel package is absolutely an elite travel experience.
